Our Grants

Previous generations invested in the future of gospel ministry. Today, we are privileged to steward that legacy for the generations that follow.
For more than 300 years, believers have entrusted resources to the Fund so that faithful gospel ministry would continue long after their own generation.
Today, we have the privilege of stewarding that legacy, supporting churches and pastors, and investing in the next generation of gospel workers. Whether you are training for ministry, developing as a pastor, supporting an apprentice, or seeking assistance for your church, our grants are designed to strengthen faithful gospel work for the benefit of Christ's church.
Each grant has its own purpose and eligibility criteria, but they all share the same aim: to encourage, equip and sustain those serving the Lord through Particular Baptist churches.
Every application is considered prayerfully and carefully, with the desire to see faithful, long-term gospel ministry flourish across our churches.

The PBF Pastoral Pathway
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." 2 Timothy 2:2
The Fund believes in supporting men as they respond to God's call to pastoral ministry through a pathway of three grants. Each grant is designed to support both the individual and their church from the very first step of the journey.
Pastoral ministry is about far more than preaching sermons. It involves shepherding God's people, offering pastoral care, leading church life, conducting funerals, and equipping the church to flourish. Through grants that support practical ministry training alongside theological education, the Fund invests in churches as they train future pastors, helping to raise a new generation of faithful shepherds equipped for the lifelong work of gospel ministry.
Step One – Church Training Grant (CTG)
We provide a one-year Church Training Grant (CTG) to churches committed to offering structured, practical ministry training for those who want to explore and test their call to pastoral ministry before beginning theological study.
Step Two – Theological Education Support Grant (TESG)
We provide a Theological Education Support Grant (TESG) to students preparing for pastoral ministry, or to pastors who have not previously undertaken first-level theological training. Applications must be submitted by 31 May for courses beginning in September.
Step Three – Ministerial Apprenticeship Grant (MAG)
We provide a £15,000 Ministerial Apprenticeship Grant (MAG), renewable for a second year, to churches willing to offer a structured apprenticeship for those who have completed their theological studies but would benefit from further practical ministry experience before taking up a pastorate.
Three grants. One pathway. Equipping churches to raise up faithful pastors for generations to come.
