Loans and Benevolent
The Loan Scheme provides interest-free loans to churches to support significant building projects, including the purchase, construction, extension, or major repair of church premises.
Loans
The Loan Scheme provides interest-free loans to churches to support significant building projects, including the purchase, construction, extension, or major repair of church premises. It is designed to help churches develop facilities that will support and strengthen their gospel ministry.
Loans are typically offered up to £100,000 and are repayable over 10 to 15 years. Churches are expected to contribute a proportion of the project costs themselves, demonstrating both commitment and financial responsibility.
Applications must include detailed plans, costings, and appropriate approvals (such as planning permission where required), along with up-to-date financial accounts. Loans are secured against church property, and appropriate legal arrangements are put in place to ensure repayment.
Applicants must share a Particular Baptist theological basis and meet the Fund’s governance requirements. All applications are carefully considered by the Executive Committee, and approval is subject to available funds.
This scheme aims to enable churches to invest in their buildings in ways that will serve their long-term mission and ministry.
Benevolent
The Personal Grant provides financial support to retired pastors, their widows, and those who have had to retire due to ill health, who have faithfully served Particular Baptist churches and are in financial need.
These grants are given as annual gifts to help supplement limited income in later life. They are intended to offer practical support and encouragement to those who have devoted themselves to gospel ministry but may not have sufficient financial provision in retirement.
Applications are considered each year, with grants awarded at the discretion of the Fund’s trustees. Applicants are asked to provide details of their financial circumstances, along with references from ministers who know them personally.
This grant reflects the Fund’s ongoing commitment to care for those who have served Christ and His church, ensuring they are supported and remembered in their later years.
