Start / Restart Grant
The Start / Restart Grant provides financial support to enable churches to appoint a pastor, church planter, or evangelist in a church revitalisation project.
Start Grant
The Start Grant provides financial support to enable churches to appoint a pastor, church planter, or evangelist in a new or developing gospel work. It is designed to support church planting projects and help establish a sustainable local church where there is little or no existing witness.
Funding is provided over an initial three-year period, covering up to 80% of the worker’s costs, with the possibility of further support through two additional phases at a reduced level. This tapered approach is intended to help churches move towards financial independence as the work grows.
Applications must demonstrate strong support from an established “supporting church,” a clear understanding of the local context, and a realistic plan for growth. The worker must be suitably trained and supported by a committed team within the church plant.
Applicants are required to provide detailed financial plans, references, and evidence of appropriate safeguarding measures. Ongoing support is dependent on regular reporting and continued progress.
This grant aims to encourage and resource the planting and strengthening of churches, helping to establish faithful gospel ministry in new areas.
Restart Grant
The Restart Grant provides financial support to enable churches to appoint a pastor, church planter, or evangelist in a church revitalisation project. It is designed to help restart and strengthen an existing gathering of believers where renewed leadership and gospel focus are needed.
Funding is provided over an initial three-year period, covering up to 80% of the worker’s costs, with the possibility of further support through two additional phases at a reduced level. This stepped approach encourages churches to move towards long-term financial sustainability as the work is strengthened.
Applications must demonstrate support from a nearby established “supporting church,” a clear understanding of the local area, and a realistic vision for renewal and growth. The worker must be suitably trained and supported by mature and committed believers within the church.
Applicants are required to provide detailed financial plans, references, and evidence of appropriate safeguarding measures. Continued support depends on regular reporting and ongoing progress in the revitalisation work.
This grant aims to help struggling churches regain stability, strengthen gospel witness, and establish faithful long-term ministry for the future.
