Pastoral Development Grant

For those who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop their ministry

The Pastoral Development Grant supports experienced ministers of Particular Baptist churches who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop their ministry through further study, research or vocational training. Grants of up to £1,200 are available towards theological degree study, specialist training, sabbatical study or resources that will strengthen pastoral ministry.

Applicants should have served as a minister of a Particular Baptist church for at least six years, hold Particular Baptist convictions, and intend to continue serving in ministry within the British Isles. Applications should clearly demonstrate how the proposed study will benefit both the minister and their church.

This grant exists to encourage ongoing learning, refreshment and development, enabling pastors to continue serving Christ and His church with greater wisdom, knowledge and effectiveness.

Conditions

 1. Applicants must have served as ministers of Particular Baptist churches for at least six years.

2. Grants may be awarded for further degree study, vocational courses, specialist reading material or sabbatical study.

3. Applicants must hold Particular Baptist convictions and intend to continue ministry within the British Isles.

4. The grant must normally be used for study or activities undertaken within the British Isles.

5. Ministers whose churches currently receive a Start|Restart Grant may apply where the study will clearly benefit the church.

6. Where an initial grant is less than the maximum available amount, a further application may be made within five years, subject to the overall grant limit.

7. All study or research undertaken must be properly supervised.

8. Successful applicants will be asked to provide a brief report outlining how the grant was used.

9.  Applications must include two references, one for the Applicant from an officer of the local association of churches (where applicable) and one who knows you personally.

10.  The grant is awarded entirely at the discretion of the Trustees of the Fund and is subject to available resources.
